copy typing timescales
I aim to complete and return copy typing work within 2/3 working days of receipt, or sooner if I can accommodate. This varies where the work is ongoing or a particularly large project.
As a rough rule of thumb, I can produce approximately 2,000 to 4,000 words an hour, depending on the legibility of the source document. 600 to 800 typed words would roughly fill one A4 page (single line spacing).
To ascertain likely typing timescales, it is helpful for me to view the document beforehand. E-mailing a sample page, or better still, the complete document is the easiest method. I can then offer an idea of likely typing timescales and document typing costs.
audio typing timescales
I charge per audio minute and not per hour. This means you know exactly how much each dictation will cost, regardless of how long it has taken to type.

It is estimated that a good quality dictation will take approximately 3-4 times it's length to transcribe. For example, it may take a minimum of 1 hour to transcribe 15 audio minutes, and a minimum of 4 hours to transcribe a 1 hour audio recording, all depending on the clarity of the recording/number of voices etc.
I can preview your recording beforehand - simply e-mail the digital file and I can offer an idea of likely typing timescales and costs.
